Tennis Training Cones

Tennis is all about quickness and agility. To become a good player, you need to include different kinds of footwork techniques into your training such as quick and small step, forward, backward and sideways movements.

There are various types of training aids for tennis, such as training cones. Training cones are available in three types, which are regular cones, half cones, and dome cones. Regular cones are usually 9 inches in height. Half cones are 7 and 3/4 inches in diameter and 2 inches high, with a hole of 2 and 1/4 inches on its top. Dome cones are the same diameter as half cones, with 3 and 1/4 inches height. Dome cones come with a stand.

Training cones are available in many vibrant colors, such as red, blue, orange, and so forth. The bright colors are essential as they make the cones more visible on the court. They are lightweight too, making them excellent training tools for kids.

Regular cones and half cones are used as lane markers, tennis targets, and obstacle courses. However, since half cones are lower in height than regular cones, half cones can also be used in serving exercises. In tennis training, dome cones are used in serving practices, and as forehand and backhand targets on the court. They can also be used as targets for groundstroke drills and volley drills.

Training cones help tennis trainers to teach children, youths and adults in hand-eye coordination, while allowing the trainees to learn at their own pace. Training cones can also be used in various agility drills, such as T-drill, funnel drill, figure 8 and square drills. Any beginners or amateurs can benefit from using training cones in their practices, and even professionals use them to improve their quickness, agility, acceleration, change of direction and reaction time.
