It’s believe to have begun in Egypt and then eventually made its way to Europe. A committee created a system of rules for the game and then Wimbledon Championship soon formed as a result which is still considered to be the greatest tournament in the history of tennis.
In the 1930s tennis became even more popular as matches were broadcast around the world on radio. Then television allowed matches to be seen from your living room.
